Reawakening a City’s Global Ambition: Uniting leaders from every corner of Toronto to champion Expo 2025 — a once-in-a-generation vision to bring the world back to Canada.

the business challenge

Toronto faced a defining opportunity: to imagine hosting Expo 2025, a global celebration of innovation, culture, and human connection — and the most significant event of its kind in Canada since Expo ’67.
The challenge was clear yet monumental — to educate and inspire political leaders, business stakeholders, and the public to see Expo not just as an event, but as a once-in-a-generation catalyst for economic growth, cultural pride, and national unity.the solution

Create an unprecedented incredibly diverse coalition—leaders from the arts and business, community groups and the labour movement including business titans, to Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation to the entire board of the Toronto Stock Exchange to start-up companies including youth entrepreneurs in Rexdale to name a few. Give this group tools to educate and inspire their networks.

the solution

We built an unprecedented, citywide coalition that reflected the full spectrum of Toronto’s identity — from business titans to grassroots changemakers.

The alliance included arts and business leaders, community groups, the labour movement, the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation, the entire board of the Toronto Stock Exchange, start-up founders, and youth entrepreneurs from Rexdale.
This coalition — diverse in every sense — became the movement’s greatest strength.

We equipped these leaders with tools, stories, and strategies to educate, engage, and inspire their own networks, creating a groundswell of support that proved Toronto was ready to host the world once again.

the results

Although shifting federal funding timelines ultimately halted the formal bid process, the vision, imagination, and civic unity inspired by Expo 2025 left a permanent mark on Toronto’s cultural and planning landscape.

• Sparked renewed ambition for major city-building events such as World Cup 2026 and Gay Games 2025

• Reignited Toronto’s global reputation as a “Big Thinking City” capable of hosting transformative international experiences

• Strengthened civic partnerships and inspired ongoing dialogue around legacy-driven placemaking and belonging

• A future Expo bid remains an active discussion, thanks to the groundwork laid by this unprecedented coalition
